Homeschool

Homeschooling is a lifestyle that we tossed around for the entire five years leading up to our daughters first day of Kindergarten.  I (Emily) will speak for myself when I say that it is a choice that I have always felt in my heart to be the right one for our family and our children however, our daughter wanted to go to school. There was no way that I was going to hold her back from attending school so when the time came, we enrolled her in a small school located just feet behind our house, and on the first day of school we handed our baby over to the wonderful teachers that were now going to be such a huge part of her life. And then the unexpected happened.  AG did NOT like school! She did not like school at all.  Kevin and I were blindsided and after many sleepless nights filled with an abundance of prayers and what felt like even more tears, we made one of the hardest, scariest and now know best decisions that we have had to make in our child's life thus far....and we pulled our daughter out of school.

Homeschooling has been an amazing experience. We've have our ups and our downs, our good days and our bad, but at the end of the day it is working for our family and we will continue to travel this path until it no longer does (which I wholeheartedly hope is never).

I often remind myself of one of my favorite quotes:

"Nobody said it would be easy, but they did promise it would be worth it."

And with that said, this is our homeschool journey!
